Saqifah Bani Sa'idah

Where the shelter of Banu Sa'idah stood, in which Abu Bakr was given the pledge as the first caliph. It is now a small garden near Masjid an-Nabawi.

History and Seerah

After the Prophet ﷺ died, the Ansar gathered with Sa'd ibn Ubadah in the shelter of Banu Sa'idah. Abu Bakr, Umar and Abu Ubaydah went to them, and there Umar took Abu Bakr's hand and pledged allegiance, followed by the people (Bukhari 3668).

Only a garden marks the spot today; there is nothing to enter.
