The minbar
The pulpit at the western edge of the Rawdah, standing where the Prophet's ﷺ own minbar stood.
History and Seerah
The Prophet ﷺ first gave sermons standing by a palm trunk. When a minbar was made for him, the trunk cried until he came down and held it (Bukhari 3584). He said his minbar is on his Hawd (Bukhari 1196). The marble minbar used today was given by the Ottoman Sultan Murad III in 998 AH (1590).
