The lands of Banu Sa'd
Ta'ifHistorical
The desert lands of the Banu Sa'd, south-east of Ta'if, where Halimah al-Sa'diyyah nursed the Prophet ﷺ as a child.
History and Seerah
As was the custom of Makkah, the infant Prophet ﷺ was sent to grow up in the desert with Halimah of the Banu Sa'd. Anas reported that while he was playing with other boys, Jibril came, opened his chest, removed a clot and washed his heart with Zamzam; the boys ran to his nurse saying Muhammad had been killed (Muslim 162). The village that carries the tribe's name today stands in their old lands; the exact places of his childhood are not known.
The event is authentic; this exact spot is a local tradition, not a certain one.
